On December 11, 2017, 21 year-old single mother Libby Caswell was found dead in the bathroom of the Sports Stadium Inn in Independence, Missouri. When first responders arrived they found Libby’s body between the bathtub and toilet with a cloth belt around her neck.

But what happened that day in room 319 may not be all that it first seemed.

Libby’s death was ruled a suicide but her mother Cynthia was not buying it for a second. Looking for answers beyond what the system was providing, Cynthia turned to the country’s leading expert on strangulation: Dr. Bill Smock, Police Surgeon for the Louisville Metro Police Department.

In a CrimeCon exclusive, Dr. Smock will give attendees a firsthand look at the case that he calls “a completely staged suicide” and will show the why and, more important, the how, there was no way Libby hung herself. Attendees will also hear from Cynthia directly about the loving daughter and mother Libby was.

If you’ve seen Dr. Smock’s presentations from CrowdSolve Seattle or CrimeCon House Arrest you know you’re in for an intense, educational session from one of the world’s foremost authorities on neck trauma.
